Iskander Makhmudov: Charitable Giving Trendsetter

Iskander Makhmudov is a trendsetter in charitable giving.

Russia’s Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) is giving 2 billion rubles to charitable social programs. The money will go toward children’s programs, orphanages, and veterans assistance.

Charitable giving is less popular in Russia than it is in the United States. In any country, an investment decision of such a high dollar amount (2 billion rubles is roughly equivalent to $67 million U.S. dollars) is typically approved by owners.

Iskander Makhmudov is the owner of UMMC. His leadership has driven the company’s charitable activity. He is a businessman, statesman, and philanthropist.
